Carlos Fischer is a guitarist, composer and arranger. His music invites us to experience melody and virtue through different styles from World Music to crossover jazz, latin jazz and rock fusion. He earned his name on the Dean’s List at Berklee College of Music. He was a semifinalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) where Path Metheny was a juror (USA 2015), and recently nominated by Hollywood music in Media Awards in the Contemporary Classical/ Instrumental category (USA 2016)
Carlos Fischer has composed a daring repertoire in his two albums: "Self Portrait" (in which Dave Weckl, the legendary drummer, takes part as a guest musician) and "Trough the Soul", showing in each of them different facets of his rich composing abilities. Now he plays with his quartet in Los Angeles- USA and is preparing the band for the next tour in Tokio - Japan and South America. A bolivian artist for the world stages.
Carlos Fischer was born on February 21st, 1983, in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
From the time he was nine years-old, he was under the tutelage of many guitar teachers such as Marcelo Gala, Matteo Beggio, Juan Valdez Alba, José María Espinoza and Mariane Dixe (piano).
At 17, he studied Flamenco Guitar in Sevilla, Spain ("Flamenco Workshop”), Guitar and Classic Piano at the “Madre Vincenti Uboldi Academy of Music”, in Santa Cruz, Bolivia; Piano, Harmony, Counterpoint and Ear Trainning with Luis Enrique Pérez, also in Santa Cruz; and Improvisation and Jazz Theory with Lisandro Canavidez, in Santa Cruz, as well.
In 2001, he studied Jazz Guitar with Marco Tindiglia, in Genova, Italy. Later on, in 2003, he obtained a scholarship to study at the renowned Berklee College of Music, in Boston, USA, where he earned his name on the Dean’s List.
Finally, he graduated from the "School of Contemporary Music- EMC" (which has a Collaboration agreement with Berklee College of Music), in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2004).
In 2005, at the age of 22, he formed the band Jazz Fusion 3D Paso and recorded his first album with original compositions, “Walking By”.
In 2007, Carlos returned to Buenos Aires in order to achieve an even higher level of proficiency in his guitar playing with maestro Francisco Rivero, and to study Arrangements with Juan Raffo.
After returning to Bolivia, in 2009, he recorded “Self Portrait”, his first solo album in which Dave Weckl, the legendary drummer, takes part as a guest musician. The album is presented in Bolivia throughout 2012. Year that becomes part of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).
In 2014, he releases “Through The Soul”, his second album, and performs several concerts in Bolivia.
In 2015 he forms the Carlos Fischer Quartet with which he participated in jazz festivals, concerts in the Ministry of Culture of Bolivia and his own events. And gave a concert with the renowned pianist Otmaro Ruiz.
In 2016 he continues performing in his country and is part of the most important international jazz festivals in México, Summer Jazz Festival of Querétaro. Also launch Carlos Fischer Online Music Academy.
At this moment, still works as a sideman guitarist, producer, composer and arranger.
